Assistance Eligibility

Age 62 or older on a before the event date.
Have a past due utility bill. The utility bill must be in the name and service address of the applicant requesting assistance.
Eligible applicants can access up to $300 in assistance once every 12 months for essential utilities such as electricity, gas, water, trash, propane, and sewer.
Additionally, eligible seniors may qualify for up to $400 in natural gas assistance through Southwest Gas’ Energy Share program.

Please Bring the Following

We encourage seniors to bring all past-due utility bills to help us assess their eligibility for available assistance programs.
Nevada Driver’s License or Nevada State ID
Copies of all current past-due utility bills (the address on the ID must match the address on the utility bill).
Proof of recent income or pending income. Examples include the following:
Social Security Statement found at ssa.gov/myaccount
Note: The Social Security Administration will NOT be on-site at the Senior Expos. Please plan to bring all appropriate documents.
Letter from your employer on current letterhead
Current bank statement showing recent deposit activity
Current income tax records
Paycheck stub
Proof of enrollment in SNAP and/or Medicaid

Transportation

Request Free Transportation: Nevada 211
Seniors can call Nevada 211 to request free transportation to and from the event. Transportation is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
