Our Healthy Community Initiatives support programs that provide preventative care, health education, and guidance from healthcare professionals. By ensuring families have the tools and support to stay healthy, we strengthen communities, promote children’s well-being, and build pathways to lifelong wellness.
Our Programs
United Way of Southern Nevada seeks grant funding requests from charitable nonprofit organizations to provide programs and services to Southern Nevada residents annually. This grant opportunity is made possible by the generous, undesignated contributions from donors at workplaces throughout Southern Nevada, corporate grants, and private philanthropic contributions.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has issued a memorandum directing federal agencies to temporarily pause all activities related to the obligation or disbursement of federal financial assistance, in accordance with recent executive orders. As a result, EFSP funds remain on hold at this time.

Project REACH helps qualifying seniors pay past-due utility bills during times of financial hardship, providing up to $300 for electricity, gas, water, and sewer. Eligible seniors can apply once every 12 months through participating nonprofit organizations.
In addition to year-round assistance, United Way of Southern Nevada hosts Project REACH Senior Expos each August, offering in-person support and additional resources. This program helps keep Southern Nevada seniors safe, comfortable, and connected to essential services.

United Way of Southern Nevada partners with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites to offer free tax filing for individuals earning under $64,000. These services help ease financial stress and support our community during tax season.
