We’re thrilled to spotlight Marguerite Panetta Gray as our Volunteer of the Month, sponsored by NV Energy!
Marguerite embodies the essence of philanthropy, driven by her unwavering passion to create a positive impact in her community. Her dedication to volunteerism is genuinely inspiring.
Marguerite channels her passion for community service through various avenues, notably as a UWSN Women United member and Day of Caring volunteer. Her commitment extends further as she proudly serves as the Board President of Leaders in Training, a UWSN partner who provides a free after school program empowering students from historically underserved communities through providing college access support and leadership development trainings. She shared, “Because I am a first-generation college graduate, I understand the benefits of an education and am passionate about this organization.”
For Marguerite, volunteering lies in witnessing transformations within her community. It’s for this reason she became a Women United Member. Through a friend she found the program and the mission of empowering women and driving change that continues to fuel her dedication. It’s also a plus that she is surrounded by women who “also roll up their sleeves to get positive things done!” she says. Most recently, Marguerite served on the UWSN Women United Suit Drive Committee. This year, the Suit Drive collected a recording breaking 15, 474 professional clothing and accessories for women in our Southern Nevada community!
Volunteering for her has improved her life immensely. She says, “Volunteering, for me, has always brought me great satisfaction by helping others and making a difference in someone’s life no matter how small the effort. It is a positive experience. Volunteering has also introduced me to new friends in the community from all different backgrounds with a shared commitment to serve.”
Thank you, Marguerite, for your outstanding service and for being an inspiration to us all! Learn more about how you can volunteer with United Way of Southern Nevada at uwsn.org/volunteer.
