Volunteer of the Month Spotlight | Amariah, Aviya, Elias, and Ezra Martinez

This month, we’re proud to recognize Amariah, Aviya, Elias, and Ezra Martinez as our Volunteers of the Month, sponsored by NV Energy! These four siblings remind us that you’re never too young to make a difference. Together, they bring joy, creativity, and compassion to every project they’re a part of.

For Amariah, the best part of volunteering is seeing how appreciative others are, and how happy it makes them. Aviya loves collaborating with others and seeing the outcome of the cause. Elias enjoys simply giving back to the community, while Ezra’s favorite part is helping everyone.

The feelings they shared reflect the heart of service. Volunteering made Amariah feel like she was adding value to someone’s life, and Aviya felt like she was truly making a difference. Elias described feeling happy and excited that people are getting the support they deserve, and Ezra summed it up with, “Volunteering made me feel good.”

Each sibling even dreamed up their own volunteer project:

  • Amariah would help clean homes for those who aren’t able to do it themselves.
  • Aviya would create baby shower kits for mothers who don’t have resources.
  • Elias would launch a food and water project.
  • Ezra would build homes for people experiencing homelessness.

When asked to describe their volunteer experience in just one word, their answers said it all: eye-opening, fulfilling, outstanding, and amazing.

Most importantly, they shared what they’ve learned about helping others: that everyone needs help at different times, that it feels good to give, that gratitude matters, and that we should always lend a hand.

The Martinez kids are proof that the future of volunteering in Southern Nevada is bright. Their kindness, imagination, and dedication remind us that big change often starts with small but meaningful acts of service.
