United Way Of Southern Nevada Announces $1.5 Million In Community Impact Grants Open For Nonprofits To Apply

Leading nonprofit will begin to accept Community Impact Grant proposals from local nonprofits starting January 24

LAS VEGAS – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) jumpstarts the new year with the opening of request for proposals for the UWSN Community Impact Grant program. Through this program, UWSN will distribute $1.5 million in donor-funded grants to local nonprofits to support the southern Nevada community. This grant program focuses on funding charitable efforts in three key categories including Student Success, Workforce Development, and Community Support. UWSN encourages southern Nevada nonprofits interested in applying for funding to submit applications beginning on January 24, 2023.

Through the Community Impact Grant process, United Way identifies programs that are effective at helping students reach their potential, ensuring that there are pathways into the workforce, and helping people avoid crises and maintain household stability. The final date to submit applications will be March 10, 2023, at 5pm. Applications should be submitted at uwsn.org/funding by the deadline.

“UWSN has continued to fund significant projects throughout our beloved southern Nevada community for the past 65 years,” said Julian High, president, and CEO of UWSN. “Throughout the decades, we have continued our mission of uniting our community to improve people’s lives through funding our nonprofit partners who work diligently to provide critical resources and support for southern Nevadans.”

By mobilizing a team of engaged volunteers and donors, the community will select the nonprofits and coalitions with proven, bold, and innovative strategies that will impact community change. Those who are funded will receive both financial and organizational support and the opportunity to gain community-wide recognition to expand their impact. Funding will be available to agencies offering evidence-based programs in three key areas:

  • Student Success: programs that provide opportunities for children and students from pre-school through high school and higher education
  • Workforce Development: programs that help individuals enter or return to the workforce
  • Community Supports: programs that help people keep a roof over their head, food on the table, and ensure equitable access to healthcare, transportation, and crisis services

The organization will host information sessions throughout the region for local nonprofits to learn more about this opportunity. To launch these information sessions, UWSN will host the Community Impact Grant Kickoff on January 24, 2023, at 4:30 PM at the United Way of Southern Nevada office at 5830 W. Flamingo Rd.
