United Way Of Southern Nevada’s Day Of Caring Makes Largest Impact To Date

More than 700 volunteers unite across southern Nevada

LAS VEGAS – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) hosted its annual Day of Caring on September 23, which kicked off with a celebration at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Town Square Las Vegas. Over 60 projects were completed across the Las Vegas Valley with the help of more than 700 volunteers contributing their time to the creation of hygiene kits, garden beautification projects at local elementary schools and the set-up of a Halloween shop to help foster kids in need.

“We are so proud and humbled by the amount of volunteerism, dedication, and joy from the volunteers, United Way team and our sponsors who contributed to make this day a monumental success,” said Julian High, president and CEO of UWSN. “We could not have done this without the contributions of our sponsors who have supported our organization and our nonprofit partners to make our community better for those in need. Together we are changing lives and we look forward to continuing our impact for decades to come.”

Sponsors of the 2022 Day of Caring include PNC Bank, KTNV Channel 13 Action News, Las Vegas Review-Journal, Capital One, Bank of Nevada, NV Energy and Marta and Stefan Schmitt.

“As a National Main Street Bank, PNC is committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we live, work and play,” says Denette Suddeth, PNC regional president for Nevada and UWSN board member. “On this Day of Caring, our PNC team collaborated in a childhood literacy project supporting Spread the Word Nevada. United Way of Southern Nevada has helped provide generations of Nevadans the opportunity to succeed for the past 65 years. Continued community support of initiatives such as Day of Caring ensures they are able to continue this important work well into the future.”
