LAS VEGAS (Oct. 16, 2023) – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) will host the 16th annual Women United Suit Drive beginning October 16. The suit drive unites female leaders across Southern Nevada to help empower women returning to the workplace. The items donated will help women in return-to-work programs at local nonprofits prepare for job interviews, enter the workforce, and achieve financial stability.
“We are thrilled to celebrate 16 years of the highly cherished and anticipated UWSN Women United Suit Drive,” said Christal Allen-Harrahill, Women United Executive Chair “In each passing year, we’ve not only collected suits but also woven threads of empowerment and confidence into the lives of countless women, proving that small acts of kindness can create a ripple of positive change.”
To get involved, donors can drop off gently used business suits, dresses, hospital scrubs, shoes and accessories to various locations across the valley. Additionally, those interested can volunteer to sort suits and meet the Women United members at the Women United Suit Drive Sip & Sort on Wednesday, November 1st from 5:30pm – 8:00pm or during the Women United Suit Drive drive-thru collection days on Thursday, November 2nd, and Friday, November 3rd at United Way of Southern Nevada located at 5830 W. Flamingo Rd.
On November 9, guests are invited to attend the Women United Suit Drive Luncheon at Via Brasil Steakhouse to celebrate the success of the Suit Drive and hear insights from an inspirational panel of female leaders in the community including Latoya Holman, Chief Development Officer, The Public Education Foundation; Kat Klehm, Executive Director, Lincoln Dynamic Foundation; Cindy Trussel, CEO, Lighthouse Charities; and Janet Quintero, Vice President of External Affairs, UWSN.
