United Way Of Southern Nevada Seeks Support To Provide Hope For Southern Nevadans

UWSN Unites the Community to Help Meet the Growing Need for Assistance

LAS VEGAS – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is proud to announce a community-wide effort to raise funds to help Southern Nevadans stay in their homes, provide for their families, and assist students to graduate and succeed. The goal of the “Everyone Deserves Hope” campaign is to increase support for those struggling to provide for their families.

“I have been out in our beloved community and witnessed the growing needs of Southern Nevada families struggling to keep a roof over their heads and provide food for their children,” said UWSN President and CEO Julian High. “We are imploring the community to join us and help provide assistance to local families who need our help.”

Leading the campaign is UWSN’s Presenting Sponsor, The Tapestry Foundation, and Angel Hero sponsor The Siegel Group (through their charity, Siegel Cares), along with sponsors Barclays US Consumer Bank, Kichler, and Charles Schwab.

“The Tapestry Foundation is proud to help Southern Nevada through its support of United Way’s ‘Everyone Deserves Hope’ campaign,” said Joanne Crevoiserat, CEO Tapestry Inc., and Chair of the Tapestry Foundation. “Together, we will provide critical assistance for families who need it most.”

“As a housing provider to those who are unable to pay hefty up-front costs and deposits, we understand the need to keep people in their homes,” said Tim Mullin, Director of Community Relations for the Siegel Group. “Unfortunately, many in our community are struggling to pay their rents and we feel our support as a leading sponsor for this campaign will go a long way to help give them that hope.”

“Barclays is proud to be a partner with United Way of Southern Nevada for the impactful ‘Everyone Deserves Hope’ campaign. It’s inspiring to see the positive changes in our community,” said Jenn Cho, Head of Citizenship, Barclays US Consumer Bank.

As Southern Nevadans face the fallout from the end of the eviction moratorium, UWSN is focused on expanding housing and community assistance. Through the generous support from Amazon co-founder Mackenzie Scott, the organization provided a total of $3.03 million in funding to 38 nonprofit partners, which is more than five times the number of nonprofit organizations than in previous years with a focus on diversity, equity, access, and inclusion.

Organizations were selected through a rigorous community vetting process, including review panels hosted by United Way of Southern Nevada’s Impact Committee, community stakeholders, volunteers, and staff. Each program was evaluated by four reviewers using a standardized rubric included with the application packet. A rigorous fiscal review was also conducted.
