LAS VEGAS – This holiday season, United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) partnered with the Vegas Golden Knights (VGK) through the ‘Holiday Knights of Giving’ program, presented by Credit One Bank, to build and donate 240 bicycles for children and families served by Olive Crest, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada and Clark County Foster Care. The bikes were assembled by dedicated teams of volunteers over three days, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the Southern Nevada community during the holidays.
The first bike build took place at Credit One Bank’s corporate headquarters, where UWSN staff members and volunteers from VGK and Credit One were joined by Knights alumni Deryk Engelland and player William Karlsson. The second event was held at the Knights’ practice facility, City National Arena, with VGK volunteers joined by Adin Hill and Jeremy Lauzon. The final build took place at America First Center in Henderson, where VGK volunteers partnered with players from the Henderson Silver Knights.
“During the holiday season, we are proud to partner with the Vegas Golden Knights to show what’s possible when our community comes together,” said Samuel Rudd, President & CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada. “These bikes bring joy and hope to children and families across Southern Nevada, reminding them that they are supported by their community.”
“Each holiday season, we look forward to supporting and giving back to those in need within our community,” said Kim Frank, VGKF President. “Working with United Way of Southern Nevada to build bikes and assist families during the holidays is just one of the many ways we are making this season brighter for everyone.”
These bike builds were made possible thanks to the generous support of the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
