LAS VEGAS (Nov. 12, 2024) – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) recently hosted its 17th annual Women United Suit Drive, marking the most successful event of its kind to date. Generous community members across Southern Nevada donated over 17,000 items of gently used professional clothing and accessories, including blazers, skirts, hospital scrubs, shoes and more. These donations will help women participating in local return-to-work programs prepare for job interviews, re-enter the workforce, and achieve financial stability.
After a month-long collection, the organization hosted a Sip N Sort event where almost 100 volunteers and Women United members came together to sort through the items. The donated clothing will be distributed to several nonprofit organizations across Southern Nevada, including Dress for Success of Southern Nevada, The Shade Tree, UNSHAKEABLE, JAG Nevada, and more.
To celebrate the record-breaking success of the drive, UWSN and Women United will host their Suit Drive Celebration Breakfast at the Las Vegas Country Club on November 20th from 7:30AM-9:30AM. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with community leaders, supporters and Women United members.
