United Way Of Southern Nevada Announces Denise Tanata As Vice President Of Community Impact

United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is proud to announce the appointment of Denise Tanata as Vice President of Community Impact.

“As a dedicated advocacy leader who has served Nevada since 1998, Denise will help ensure that our community receives the support it needs to move forward during these challenging times,” said UWSN President and CEO Ms. Kyle B. Rahn. “She has a long history of empowering individuals toward collective action and is the voice of change we need to make an impactful difference in Southern Nevada.”

Most recently the Executive Director of Children’s Advocacy Alliance (CAA), Denise earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s Studies and minor in Sociology from UNLV, and her Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. Ms. Tanata also serves on numerous boards and coalitions aimed at improving the lives of children and families in Nevada and is the recipient of the US Congressional Flag by former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for her commitment to the children of Nevada.

As the Vice President of Community Impact, Denise will use these experiences to develop, implement and manage United Way of Southern Nevada’s community strategies and initiatives that improve outcomes for individuals and families in our community.

“The Children’s Advocacy Alliance would not be the powerful influencer it is today without Denise at its helm for the past eight years. While we are sad to see her go, we are excited for an even stronger partnership between CAA and UWSN and to see the positive change we can make together for children and families in Nevada,” said Lynn Purdue, CAA Board Chair.

United Way of Southern Nevada is part of a network of nearly 1,800 community-based United Ways in 40 countries and territories. United Way Worldwide is the largest nonprofit in the world, raising $5 billion annually in support of families and individuals in need.
