UNITED WAY OF SOUTHERN NEVADA AND CLARK COUNTY EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM ANNOUNCES ALMOST $1.5 MILLION AVAILABLE IN FUNDING

LAS VEGAS – As the cost of food, rent, and utilities continue to soar, United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is proud to announce a significant allocation of federal funds totaling $1,488,327 million through Phase 41 of the FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP). This funding, administered locally by UWSN, highlights the organization’s commitment to addressing critical needs within the community.

UWSN plays a pivotal role in managing the application process and convening the EFSP Local Board, which vets and distributes these resources to a network of nonprofit partners across Southern Nevada. These funds serve as a lifeline for individuals and families by providing essential support for shelter, meals, and utility bill assistance.

Since 2021, the Emergency Food and Shelter Program distributed $8.7 million to provide over 584,000 meals and more than 37,700 nights of shelter. EFSP funds were also used to support 2,350 households with emergency rental assistance.
