Meet Mirna Velazquez, our new Early Education Specialist at United Way of Southern Nevada!
In her role, Mirna is dedicated to helping children build strong foundations for learning. She supports early educators, strengthens classroom environments, and empowers families — all to ensure Southern Nevada’s youngest learners have the opportunities they need to succeed.
Mirna works closely with teachers and early education partners to foster high-quality learning experiences. Through ongoing support and collaboration, she helps create nurturing environments where children can grow, explore, and thrive. Her passion for education and her commitment to community make her an incredible asset to our team.
When asked what inspired her to join #TeamUWSN, Mirna shared that she was drawn to our shared mission of supporting children’s development — and to the welcoming team members who made her feel excited to learn, grow, and make an impact.
Outside of work, Mirna enjoys hiking and exploring new brunch spots around town. And if you ever visit Las Vegas, she has one must-do recommendation: eat! With incredible local restaurants and places like Mount Charleston and Red Rock Canyon, there’s so much more to discover beyond the Strip.
