Zarria is one of the many students in Southern Nevada who face challenges that make it difficult to pursue their dreams. We are inspired by Zarria’s determination to be the first one in her family to pursue and succeed in her dream career. Because of the circumstances she was subjected to at home, she felt like she might not be able to reach her goal, so she applied for the UNLV HOPE Scholars program. Thanks to the support of United Way of Southern Nevada, the UNLV HOPE Scholars program provides students with housing, academic and financial support while attending UNLV. Receiving this scholarship allowed Zarria to discover more goals she would like to achieve in the future, and she is now on the right path to achieving her main goal of graduating with a degree and pursuing her dream career. The scholarship provided by UWSN, and UNLV HOPE Scholars program has not only made Zarria hopeful but excited for her future!
