Sometimes life can take unexpected turns; W.H. is a grandfather who recently lost his wife who cared for four adoptive grandchildren. Leaving him to care for all four children who have special needs without any help, financial resources, or legal capacity. Thanks to United Way of Southern Nevada’s partnership with Foster Kinship, W.H. has received all the help he needs to access a subsidized guardianship program, as well as financial assistance and benefits. Additionally, his children have been using the respite program and have had a great improvement in their well-being. We love to partner with organizations like Foster Kinship who are dedicated to stabilizing families like W.H.’s to make a difference in the capacity they have to give back to the children instead of worrying about keeping children fed or housed.
