When Nikkia first visited our partners at Dress for Success of Southern Nevada (DFSSN) in 2019, she was unemployed and in need of professional attire for a job training program. Nikkia was able to complete the job training, and land on her feet, working on her entrepreneurial dreams. In September 2021 Nikkia returned to DFSSN, for additional support, now as a successful small business owner. Through the support of United Way Southern Nevada (UWSN), DFSSN was able to provide Nikkia with an employment wardrobe refresh fit for a business leader, along with supplemental educational and leadership development tools, and opportunities to hone her networking skills. Nikkia was sponsored to attend several events, including the Women In Business Summit. Nikkia continues to be a shining star, becoming a DFSSN Advocate and paying it forward, as a role model for her young niece who was also supported through UWSN and DFSSN.
