At UWSN, we are fortunate to witness incredible stories of resilience, determination, and the power of community support. This summer, we met Kayla Covington and her supportive mom, Amanda, at the Project 150 Scholarship Luncheon. Their story is a testament to the positive impact of our partnership and the transformative power of education.
Meeting Kayla and Amanda reminded us of the immense difference we can make when we come together. UWSN’s collaboration with Project 150 played a pivotal role in supporting Kayla’s educational aspirations. Through UWSN’s funding of the Project 150 scholarship program, Kayla could pursue her dreams and unlock a world of opportunities. Kayla is now pursuing a hospitality degree at UNLV and hopes to one day own an event planning business.
Amanda, Kayla’s devoted mother, recognized the importance of giving back to the community that supported her daughter’s dreams. She actively contributes to UWSN through the Nevada State Bank United Way fundraising campaign. Amanda’s dedication demonstrates the ripple effect of empowerment—how one person’s success inspires others to make a difference.
Kayla and Amanda’s story is a powerful reminder of the transformative power of education and community support. Through UWSN’s partnership with Project 150, we collectively make dreams come true for aspiring students.
