Kateyah Reed is a UNLV student who through the support of United Way of Southern Nevada and Leaders in Training (LIT) was able to pursue a college degree and achieve her dream of working in the Marketing field for her future career. Kateyah found out about Leaders in Training through a friend that brought her to LIT for an ACT Exam Prep Course. Once they completed the course, Kateyah wanted to join LIT because she loved the structure of the program and how it would help her achieve her goals post-graduation. Kateyah shared, “LIT and United Way helped me reach my goals by providing me with not only emotional support but financial support as well. I wouldn’t have been able to apply to as many colleges as I did in high school. I wouldn’t have been able to afford more than 2-3 applications. I feel like LIT has set me up for so much success. I’ve had 3 impactful internships, been involved in my community, and most importantly stayed in school.”
Through her dedication and passion for the Marketing field, Kateyah has successfully accomplished internships in Digital Marketing with RTC Ride Share, Q3 Student Partners, and now recently, Live Nation. Kateyah’s story is just one example of how UWSN and LIT are empowering Southern Nevada students and providing the tools they need for their success.
