Igniting the Power of Local Women!

What is sisterhood, and what does it mean for our community? It means women coming together, using their collective power to make a difference. It means women uniting to lift up Southern Nevada and lift each other up. Sisterhood has a name: United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women United.

By igniting the power of women – who bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to accomplish goals and grow exponentially – Women United (formerly the Women’s Leadership Council) finds new solutions to old problems. They don’t stand by; they lead the fight to change Southern Nevada. Since its creation, Women United has raised $2.8M and committed over 6,500 volunteer hours. Women United is a network like no other: doing more, raising more, and going further to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

From funding free tutoring programs with CCSD teachers at Southern Nevada libraries to providing scholarships at early education centers throughout the county, United Way of Southern Nevada and Women United are active in every corner of our community. Women United is a supporter of programs like Girls on the Run, which operates at 24 local elementary schools. Currently, three teams run in Summerlin and members volunteer at their season-ending 5K each year. In addition, members call every part of our valley home, from Summerlin to Henderson and everything in between.

On March 6, 2020, join this dynamic group of community changemakers and celebrate women empowering women at the Women United Luncheon Fashion Show.
