Hundreds Of Volunteers United To Rebuild Southern Nevada On Day Of Caring, Friday October 8

Over 650 volunteers gave back to the community on one day of volunteering

LAS VEGAS- October 14, 2021- United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) celebrated a successful Day of Caring event on October 8, 2021. Volunteers jumpstarted the day with an energizing kickoff at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Town Square Las Vegas and gave back to local nonprofits to support their favorite causes and help Southern Nevada families. UWSN was able to gather over 650 volunteers to complete 54 projects at 40 nonprofit agencies across Southern Nevada.

Thank you to UWSN’s generous Day of Caring sponsors, Siegel Suites, Pinkbox Doughnuts, Barclays Bank US, Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo, Las Vegas Review-Journal, KTNV Channel 13 Action News, Marta Poling Schmitt, and NV Energy. These volunteers helped create hygiene kits for local youth, build care packages for students going off to college, assemble grocery bags for seniors, and beautify transitional housing apartments for local families.

United Way of Southern Nevada is grateful for all volunteers and sponsors who came together to demonstrate the caring spirit of our community. Through events like Day of Caring, we can continue to provide essential support to one in four individuals throughout the valley. Together, we can help ensure every person in Southern Nevada has the opportunity to succeed. Please give today at uwsn.org/give.
