Mike Katigbak
Chief Financial Officer
Mike Katigbak is a licensed Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) who initially was a Certified Management Accountant. His MBA concentration was Corporate Finance. Mike has extensive experience leading financial operations in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. As Chief Financial Officer at United Way of Southern Nevada, Mike brings more than 30 years of financial expertise to the organization, with a strong background in strategic planning, budget development, management reporting, external and regulatory compliance, and federal and state funding management including grants.
Mike began his corporate finance career working with US GAAP at multinational corporations under the North American financial reporting governance of US corporate offices. He also worked as a financial consultant for divisions of multinational corporations. Fortunately, Mike has also worked at midsized businesses and enjoyed the entrepreneurial challenges and opportunities where he was able to contribute to the organization’s accounting and information system developments and improvements. As CFO, Mike led a hospital information system implementation from paper-based to electronic medical records. He has worked with various systems like Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Axium, Agresso, Meditech, Epic and more recently, Workday.
Mike’s industry experience is equally diverse, with nearly a decade in education and eight years in hospital and health insurance. He has also worked in financial services, manufacturing, and professional services. Before joining UWSN, Mike served as Senior Director of Finance and Administration for Student Life Business Services at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
At United Way of Southern Nevada, Mike will leverage his deep financial expertise and cross-sector experience to strengthen UWSN’s fiscal foundation, ensure transparency and accountability, and support the organization’s long-term growth—allowing UWSN to maximize its impact across the Southern Nevada community.
