LAS VEGAS, NV (Sept. 28, 2023) – Last week, United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) partnered with Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee Charities to host the eighth annual Day of Caring event. Day of Caring is held in collaboration with local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations.
The event began with a morning kickoff celebration at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country located in Town Square. Nearly 1,000 volunteers came together to participate in 56 service projects with more than 43 community partners, aimed at enriching the local community. Volunteer opportunities included nurturing school gardens, assembling school supply kits for local students, distributing essential food items to those in need, and more.
“United Way of Southern Nevada’s 8th Annual Day of Caring reaffirms our commitment to driving impactful change in Southern Nevada,” stated Julian High, President & CEO of UWSN. “This special day represents the epitome of unity, where the community makes a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we can build a brighter future for our fellow brothers and sisters, embodying the true spirit of giving and collaboration.”
President and CEO of the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee, Sam Joffray, is happy to expand their partnership with the United Way of Southern Nevada. “It only makes sense for our relationship to evolve,” stated Joffray. “We are like minded organizations with a goal of making the Las Vegas community a better place for all.”
This united effort seeks to positively impact thousands of families, students, seniors, and individuals, fostering an environment of support and compassion. United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN), Las Vegas Super Bowl LVII Host Committee Charities, PNC Bank, and other partners were able to provide support for all of Southern Nevada.
