Dominique’s Story

As a single mother of three minor-aged children, how would you manage childcare and make money for your family? With funding from United Way of Southern Nevada, Family Promise of Las Vegas was able to help Dominique secure the full payment necessary to transition into her own apartment. Family Promise of Las Vegas works with churches and other community organizations to empower homeless families to achieve sustainable independence. Dominique’s family received grocery items, gift cards, and even furniture for their new apartment. In addition, Epiphany Episcopal Church provided mentorship and fellowship for the family through weekly phone calls and Zoom meetings. Through Family Promise of Las Vegas—and funding from UWSN—the family created a new life for themselves and made their new apartment a place they were proud to call home.
