Join us and give a warm welcome to Margaret Bourgon who joins United Way of Southern Nevada as an Early Childhood Specialist! Her role revolves around the Nevada Ready! Pre-K program, where she acts as a guiding force for teachers, empowering them to excel in their craft. Drawing from over 25 years in Early Childhood Education, Margaret employs the CLASS assessment to mentor teachers, ensuring they provide the best possible education to their young students.
Margaret’s journey to UWSN stemmed from her experience as a Nevada Ready! Pre-K program teacher for six years. Witnessing firsthand the positive transformative impact of this program on both children and educators fueled her desire to contribute further. The opportunity to join United Way of Southern Nevada was one that Margaret couldn’t miss! Margaret is driven by our organization’s dedication to meaningful work that helps Southern Nevadans transform their lives!
Margaret’s top recommendation when in Las Vegas is visiting Red Rock Canyon! Her favorite memory from Las Vegas history was the solidarity and support the community displayed during the challenging times following the 1 October tragedy, a testament to the city’s resilience and unity in adversity. Margaret’s commitment to fostering better educational opportunities echoes UWSN’s mission, further enriching our efforts to create a more equitable community for all.
