65th Anniversary Team UWSN Spotlight | Don Waitman

CELEBRATE 65 years with us and join us for Team UWSN Tuesday! Today’s team member is the leader, the legend, Don Waitman! Don is our Facilities and IT Manager and has been working with us for almost 3 decades! Don shared his thoughts on what best exemplifies the work of United Way of Southern Nevada with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“United Way’s response to the local economic fallout in the wake of 9/11. When thinking about what best exemplifies his team’s work ethic and community commitment, Don recalls that time. Waitman remembers that time with pride because of the United Way’s quick reaction. Within a week, the team created a fund for displaced hospitality and airline workers.”

At UWSN we are dedicated to being flexible and helping the community when needed most. Don said, “It’s good that you’re helping in the community, and you do what you need to do. That was something the community needed, and because we are flexible, that’s something that we could do.”

Don’s favorite memory working with UWSN was when he had the opportunity to manage the Annual Campaign as the interim VP of Resource Development in 2011 when they raised $11M! Continue reading below to learn what his Las Vegas favorites are!
