$1.6 Million Awarded Through The Emergency Food And Shelter Program To Provide Food, Shelter, And Utility Assistance To Local Families

Nevada families can get connected to these essential resources by contacting Nevada 211

United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is proud to announce that 12 nonprofit partners will receive $1.6 million in Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) federal funding to help provide food, shelter, and utility assistance, ensuring Southern Nevadans have the resources and tools they need to build a path to recovery.

“Through this $1.6 million in Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) funding, UWSN and our 12 nonprofit partners can provide relief for local families,” said Ms. Kyle B. Rahn, President & CEO of UWSN. “The support provided by UWSN and the EFSP is part of our strategic efforts to build pathways out of poverty and help our community recover and rebuild.”

In Southern Nevada, the EFSP provides a network of resources for those struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. With these funds, which are awarded through the Department of Homeland Security, our nonprofit partners will provide essential services such as food, shelter, and utility assistance. This funding will provide financial support in addition to the over $2.4 million already invested through UWSN’s Emergency Assistance and Community Needs Fund, funded through individual donors and community supporters such as the Nevada Attorney General, NV Energy, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and many more.
