UNITED WAY OF SOUTHERN NEVADA ANNOUNCES THE DESERET INDUSTRIES MOVE-IN VOUCHER PROGRAM TO HELP FAMILIES TRANSITION OUT OF HOMELESSNESS

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 1, 2024) – In recognition of National Homelessness Awareness Month, United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is proud to highlight the launch of the Deseret Industries Move-In Voucher Program. This initiative offers essential move-in assistance to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.

The program provides vouchers that can be redeemed at both Deseret Industries locations in Las Vegas (W Craig Road in North Las Vegas and East Flamingo Road at Boulder Highway). Recipients also receive household ‘move-in kits,’ which contain essential items such as bathroom toiletries, cleaning supplies, and kitchen/dining items. These kits are assembled and donated by volunteers and stored with Clark County Social Services. UWSN is looking for corporate partners interested in building move-in kits, please contact volunteer@uwsn.org for more information.

Funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and administered by the United Way of Southern Nevada, this program operates in partnership with Clark County Social Service and various nonprofit organizations involved in the Operation HOME! initiative and CCSS Youth and Family Programs.
