They may be looking for training, employment, food pantries, utility assistance, help for an aging parent, addiction prevention programs for their teenage children, affordable housing options, support groups or other services. Nevada 2-1-1 was designed as an information and referral system to direct people to the right Agency or Government Program based on their need. When in need, it is critical that callers get help quickly and effectively. Nevada 2-1-1 was established to get the right person to the right service, quickly, expediently, and with kindness and humility.

After seven years of service and over 522,000 calls, Nevada 2-1-1 most often helps those seeking the following services:

  • Rental/Mortgage Assistance
  • Utility Assistance
  • Food Banks/Food Stamps
  • Medical/Health Care
  • Employment Assistance

2-1-1 is a United Way Initiative, a no-cost easy to remember telephone number (2-1-1) that connects those in need to a real person. 2-1-1 operators receive thorough screening and training, so that they can successfully select the program(s) that best suits the needs of the caller. Nevada 2-1-1 is there to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, and offers in language translation services for over 150 languages.
